Rory, 4yr, Quarter/Walker, Bay, Mare
Rory is the foundation of our rescue. She was the first horse we brought here and became the namesake of what is now Rory Ridge Rescue. She is a calm, easy going mare. She is very affectionate with everyone she meets and absolutely adores kids. She has been the herd leader since she arrived and will spend the rest of her days at Rory Ridge Rescue.
Resident Pick Pocket
Remy, 2yr, Mini Horse Paint, Gelding
Remy was born at the rescue (on the same day as best friend Roo!) and has been a big baby ever since. He loves to carry around his ball that is bigger than he is. He is a very curious little guy that always wants to know what you are up to and if you happen to have any treats floating around in your pockets!
Acrobat in Training
Roo, 2yr, Curly Mini Horse, Buckskin, Gelding
Roo was born at the rescue (on the same day as best friend Remy!) and has been the cutest little guy to have around. When Remy is not carrying his big ball around Roo loves to try and lay on top of it; until the ball gets rolling and he falls off! If he turns his butt towards you, do not worry! He is not going to kick you, he just wants you to scratch it for him.
Ballcap and Ponytail Snatcher
Dakota, 2yr, RQH, Dun, Gelding
Dakota is registered with the AQHA. He arrived here before he was a year old and did not want anyone to touch him. He has blossomed into one of the best horses at the rescue. He is now one of the sweetest horses and loves everyone that he meets. His favorite thing to do other than chase Remy and Roo is to try and remove ponytails and hats from anyone that he can get close enough to.
Goldie, 13yr, Morgan/Draft, Golden Palomino, Mare
This gorgeous mare was adopted on Christmas Day. She loves staying out in the pasture 24/7 and will stand for hours to be groomed and loved on. She adores her new mom very much and has become extremely bonded with her.
Apricot, 4yr, Chestnut, Saddlebred, Mare
Apricot is a proper lady. She loves to prance down to the gate to meet you when you enter the pasture. Her favorite spot to be rubbed is her neck. She has a new home where her family will be sharing her with others to teach more people how to ride. We have high hopes for this young mare!
Biggie, 8yr, Sorrel, QH Cross, Gelding
Biggie is a big baby who loves his new mom. He follows her around like a big puppy dog and always wants her attention. He loves to go for relaxing trail rides with his buddies at his boarding barn.
Little Red, RQH, Red Dun Gelding.
Adopted as a colt at 1yr old, Little Red is registered with the AQHA. He loves to take selfies and his best feature, other than his personality, is his mane, which has a purple tint in the sun.
Lily, 3yr, Mini Mule, Brown, Mare
Lily is the cutest little mule you could ever find! She has an underbite that gives her a face that you just want to squeeze. This does not stop her from missing a meal though! She has become fast friends with her new pasture pal, Poppy!
Joe and Pie, 17yr & 18yr, Dark Bay, Paso Fino, Gelding & Mare
Joe loves anything to do with water. You can find him playing in the water trough in the field on a hot summer day or showing his teeth while getting hosed down.
Pie is a beauty queen. She loves to be pampered on a daily basis. One way she loves to show you she is excited is by lifting her upper lift to show off her teeth.
KC & Peanut, 12yr, Buckskin & Paint, Mini Horse, Mares
Peanut takes a while to warm up to someone new. She was impossible to catch in the pasture at first but once she got to know you she loved to get your attention. She is inseparable with her best friend KC (who she was adopted out with) and gets loved on by two little boys. She is mom to little Roo, one of our sanctuary horses.
KC (now renamed Jelly to fit with her best friend Peanut’s name) is the cutest little horse. She has the thickest, blackest mane that would always blow in the wind! She was adopted out with Peanut and has two little boys to give her all the attention she could ever want. She is mom to Remy, one of our sanctuary horses.
Cedar (Delara), 3yr, Palomino Paint, Gelding
Delara, now renamed Cedar, has gone to his forever home with the family that previously adopted Willow. We are excited they are willing to extend their hearts even further with this beautiful horse and Willow and Cedar will become fast pasture mates.
